Cadets Black Belt Members (Age 7 -13 years)
- The Black Belt Members program is the next step up for our Cadets in the Freestyle Karate system, once they have graduated from the Basic program. These classes are designed to build upon all the good foundations laid down in the previous program and take the students techniques and ability to a higher level.
- Each student upon being invited onto the Black Belt program must abide by a more strict code (ie manners and dojo etiquette will be more stringently followed) and relish the challenge of working harder towards their next goal.
- Students will at this level be required to learn how to spar for the first time (once they have purchased the mandatory safety equipment) and begin to understand the true application of their blossoming martial arts skills.
- Sparring is semi and light contact with each session being strictly monitored by the instructing staff to make sure everyone has a fun, rewarding and most importantly safe time. At this point, we also encourage our students to work on their physical agility through gymnastic and acrobatic training.
- This is classed as our intermediate level and as such students can spend a number of years training in this particular program refining their abilities and learning new and more challenging techniques. The belt system is a continuation of the previous Basic program within this level.
- As children tend to spend a long time in this program, past experience has shown us that this is the point where a lot of what we teach comes to fruition within our students. We see them grow not only in body but also in mind and spirit. They become more confident, have greater self esteem, show greater respect, are more self disciplined and can focus towards positive goals Thus we feel our BBM program really is a great way for children to develop well in their most formative years.
