Freestyle
- Our Freestyle syllabus is a complete mixed martial arts (MMA) system that draws its core from a number of other styles including karate, kickboxing, thaiboxing, jiu jitsu and wrestling.
- The concept behind the freestyle system is that a trained exponent should be confident in defending themselves in whatever fighting range they may find themselves in.
- It is the system we reccommend to people who may wish to learn a style that incorporates a strong self defence component.
- Even though it has modern methods and aims, it is at heart a true system in that it encourages its students to develop themselves not only physically but mentally and spiritually as well.
- Its ultimate aim is for the student to see that lessons learnt through training in the dojo can and should be transferred across to their everyday lives as well.
- For the real yard stick you should measure your progress by is not by counting how many fights you have won or by how much weight you have lifted (although these are honourable goals) but by how your character has developed and who you have become as a person.
- This is one of the reasons why the freestyle syllabus is the one we choose to teach to both adults and children from as young as three (although there is a marked difference in the way that we teach dependant on age and ability).
- When training in freestyle, the world really is your oyster as you will have a strong foundation to build from and progress in whatever direction you may feel you want to go in the martial arts world.
- Some students may move onto competition, amateur and professional level fighting.
- Some may wish to become instructors themselves and teach others what they have become so passionate about themselves.
- Some may set themselves the goal of attaining their black belt and then find themselves hooked on refining their hard earned skills over the rest of their life.
- Others may just simply enjoy the variety, energy and friendship that your average class will supply in abudance time and time again.
- Which ever path our students take, will be the right one for them and they will have our backing to succeed no matter their goal.
